To keep the cost of building homes reasonable for both us and our families, we build our homes with donated materials and services.

Did you know that we have up to 30 volunteers on site every day? That means we need enough tools, hard hats, safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, and food for this fantastic crew.

Did you know that we need local businesses to donate their time and services? Here are just a few examples of how you can help:

  • architectural renderings
  • site servicing
  • engineering services
  • legal consultations
  • building materials
  • trades labour

Make an impact: Give to our ReStores!

Habitat for Humanity Waterloo Region owns and operates two ReStore outlets in Waterloo Region. A ReStore is a retail store concept that accepts donations of overstocked, seconds, used, discontinued items and salvageable building materials donated by manufacturers, stores, contractors and individuals. Items can include new and gently used furniture, building materials, appliances, cabinetry, sinks, countertops, household and décor items. The ReStore then sells those items to the public at a reduced cost, typically 50-80% percent off the original retail value.  Pretty cool, huh?  We then sell these donations back to the public and the monies raised cover 100% of Habitat for Humanity Waterloo Region’s administrative costs.  So help us increase our inventory by donating items today.

Make an impact: Take advantage of our salvage service!

Are you renovating or remodelling?  It could cost you a pretty penny to have a contractor remove your tired kitchen. By calling us, our salvage crew (completely made up of volunteers!), lead by a contractor, will remove your unwanted items for free and resell them to the public in our ReStores.

We'll even take the kitchen sink and you'll get:

  • a FREE service.  That's right, removing your kitchen is FREE!
  • a tax receipt for your donation
  • the satisfaction of knowing your donation is helping hard-working, low-income families their own home 

All you have to do is contact our Salvage Coordinator (519-747-0664 Ext.264) to assess your donation and arrange a pick up date and time, or fill out our easy, online donation form.
