Holiday Traditions

This Holiday help families create traditions in their own home

Before we know it, we’ll be gathering together again with friends, family, and loved ones to celebrate the holiday season. The holidays for Habitat partner families are about celebrating the gifts their home keeps giving — a place to study, a place to have friends over, a place to create their family traditions, like building gingerbread houses, building snowmen and hanging ornaments on the tree for Christmas Day.

Habitat homeowner Estefania shares, “As a family, to finally have a home and space has been a blessing. Since we started our family, we always lived with others, which is never the same as having your own space. We are so excited for the holidays- our first Christmas Tree, our first Christmas to decorate, first Santa Claus visiting our little one, our first holiday in our own home."

“Having our own home for the holidays makes us feel like we finally received OUR Christmas gift- a home. This year, we are going to spend the holidays at home with friends and family. We have a family dinner tradition on Christmas Eve where we decorate the table and share all the blessings between us. We love music in our culture so we will be dancing the night away with one another in our new forever home.”
