Marketing Coordinator

Director of Community Outreach

Position Summary




The role of the Marketing Coordinator is to provide support to the Community Outreach Team in a variety of outreach and marketing initiatives, including content design, media collection and event organization. This support allows Habitat Waterloo Region to continue to raise awareness and funds for our ongoing projects in Waterloo Region.

This is a seasonal contract for 8 weeks starting on June 16, 2026. It is expected to be 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, at $17.60 per hour.

 



Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation and organization of marketing assets for events (signage, materials and displays)


• Support event planning and on-site coordination, including setup, takedown and logistics


• Capture and organize photos and videos at events for use in marketing and communications


• Create and edit basic graphic design materials (e.g., social media graphics, posters and event collateral) in alignment with brand guidelines


• Maintain and organize media libraries and marketing files


• Provide general administrative and project support to the Community Outreach team as needed

The list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities that management may deem as necessary.


Qualifications



• As part of the Canada Summer Jobs program, applicants must be youth aged between 15-30 and either a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or a Refugee under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act


• Understanding of the Habitat for Humanity philosophy with a desire to promote it


• Demonstrated experience with basic graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Illustrator or Adobe InDesign)


• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks


• Comfortable working at events, including setup, coordination and media capture


• Experience or interest in photography and videography for social media content


• Strong written and verbal communication skills


• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Other Requirements


• Provide proof of a valid Ontario Driver’s License, adequate insurance and a clear driving record
• Access to reliable transportation
