Habitat Pride welcomes friends and supporters of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community to join us for a hands on woodworking experience that builds both skills and impact.
Through the NailedIt! Construction Build, presented in partnership with the Grand Valley Construction Association, participants will learn basic woodworking techniques while working together to create small-scale construction projects.
The finished projects will be sold to the community, with proceeds supporting Habitat Waterloo Region's homeownership programs that help local families overcome barriers to affordable homeownership.
Celebrate Pride with us while working and learning alongside fellow community members in this fun and impactful activity!
No construction experience is required!
Community starts with a home. Pride Day is a celebration of diversity, inclusion and belonging and an opportunity to make a meaningful difference close to home. Join us as we harness the energy of Pride Month to help local families access affordable homeownership and the stability it creates.
What is a Pride Day?
DayPride is a celebration of inclusion, bringing together friends and allies of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community to make a tangible difference through affordable housing. It’s a unique opportunity to learn new skills, and help create lasting change, while working alongside welcoming staff and volunteers who are passionate about building community.
The event is 9:00am-12:00pm at Grand Valley Construction Association, 25 Sheldon Drive, Cambridge
We provide:
- Tools, materials, supplies, personal protective equipment, experienced Crew Leaders and community connection!
- A Pride Day event shirt
- Lunch and snacks to fuel your day
- Photos of the day, posted to our Flickr account
- An invitation to our next Family Dedication event
